A Double Girder Semi Portal Crane at a Power Station

This crane was installed at a Hartlepool power station to replace the existing crane. It has a safe working load of 10 Tonnes, a span of 12 metres with a 1.3 metre cantilever past the floor rail and a height of lift of 8 metres. It is operated by a radio control system and has a divorced back-up pendant.

An access and maintenance platform runs the full length of the crane span and is accessed via a ladder fixed to the portal leg. The crab unit is also fitted with a maintenance platform and handrails. The paint protection is suitable for a marine / coastal environment.
