Beam Turning Crane System

Pelloby has installed two systems for a well known bridge manufacturer for turning steel sections as part of the fabrication process.  The cranes are rated at 6 Tonnes and are fitted with 2 – 3 Tonne wire rope hoists. Attached to the hoists are specially developed belt turning units which are electrically driven and operated from the divorced pendant control.

The endless steel re-inforced, rubber belts are placed over the ends of the steel sections. They are lifted clear of the trestles before being rotated. Belt turning units have been manufactured and installed in another division of this Company to turn sections weighing up to 25 Tonnes.
